Livelihoods & Food Security

CEEDO works with communities through a holistic livelihood enhancement and protection framework that facilitates the graduation of ultra-poor households into sustainable non-poor status. The process begins with poverty scorecard analysis and progresses through the development of Livelihood Investment Plans (LIPs), capacity building of Common Interest Groups (CIGs), provision of assets (tools and microfinance), marketable skills and enterprise development, and linking communities to formal safety nets.

Livelihoods Enhancement Program – Key Steps

CEEDO identifies target areas using poverty and vulnerability indicators, followed by a situational analysis of socio-economic conditions and local resources. Communities are organized into Common Interest Groups (CIGs) to strengthen collective action. Households are further categorized as Poor, Above Poverty Line Poor, or Ultra-Poor through the Poverty Scorecard (PSC), ensuring tailored interventions for sustainable livelihoods.

Livelihood Investment Plans (LIPs):

CEEDO supports ultra-poor households through targeted asset transfers that enable income generation and self-reliance. In addition, we facilitate access to social safety nets, ensuring families receive essential services and protection. These interventions strengthen resilience and help break the cycle of poverty for the most vulnerable.

Skills Training for Target Groups

CEEDO equips community members with vocational and enterprise skills to enhance employability and self-employment opportunities. We nurture entrepreneurship through tailored training and mentorship while creating linkages for job placements. This approach enables sustainable income generation and long-term economic stability for vulnerable households.

Resource Mobilization Program

Ever since its inception the Community Empowerment & Equity Development Organization (CEEDO) has progressively built strong institutional capacity to provide one-window project management and implementation services, Third Party Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Services for programs/impact assessment, Baseline Studies, Research Assignments, Strategy Development for development organizations, government agencies, donors, NGOs and the private sector.

Through this comprehensive resource mobilization approach, CEEDO is able to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and scalable solutions that strengthen development interventions and contribute to long-term community empowerment.
